Frustrated Fans Get Kaizer Chiefs Fined R100 000
Kaizer Chiefs have been fined a hefty amount by the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee (PSL DC).
Earlier this week, the Committee filed two misconduct charges against the Glamour Boys after their frustrated fans pelted coach Molefi Ntseki with projectiles and other objects following their 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy on 20 August.
Per reports, the Chiefs appeared before the Committee on Tuesday morning, 29 August, and pleaded guilty to both charges.
As a result, Zola Majavu, the league’s official prosecutor, declared that the club would be fined R100 000.
“After listening to the deliberations on sanction, the PSL DC ruled as follows: Kaizer Chiefs was [sic] fined a monetary amount of R100 000, of which R30 000 is suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that during the period of suspension, they are not found guilty of the same offence,” Majuvu said.
“Effectively, they were directed to pay R70 000, together with the cost of the seating … They were further directed to send a written apology to the league and the sponsors, and also to carry that apology on their website.”
